Since I was a child, my focus has been
enjoying the outdoors and environmental stewardship. The majority of my career
has been spent working with industry,
with a goal to educate the workforce
to change attitudes and activities to
reduce their environmental footprint.
I witnessed first hand how education can
completely change the culture, vision and
goals of a company. What I didn't realize was
how enriched my life could be as an educator.
With every presentation and information
session in our local communities and
schools, the more I realized this is where
I was meant to be. And so begins,
my next adventure.......
Waiting for the helicopter to land, after we spent the day collecting water samples.
"Information is not knowledge. The only source of knowledge is experience" - Albert Einstein
From collaborating with indigenous communities to create meaningful training programs and economic
opportunities; to career days at high schools; guest lecturer at universities and providing field tours to our local communities. These are just a few examples of the opportunities that I have been fortunate enough to encounter, learn from, and enhance my personal growth.
SEE MY JOURNEY & EXPERIENCES
Every once in a while, we need to change our perspectives to see the "bigger picture". As an educator, I am always exploring and challenging our perspectives, and trying to view information from a different angle. This approach helps me build an inclusive classroom where students take an active role in their learning through critical thinking and inquiry.
